Ukrainian orthography is the set of rules and standards for writing the Ukrainian language using the Cyrillic alphabet. Ukrainian orthography uses diacritical marks to indicate pronunciation of certain letters, and it specific rules for the use of capital letters, use of the soft sign (ь) and the apostrophe (‘) to indicate certain sounds and letter combinations.
