Cofán (also Kofán) Fonts

Cofán (also spelled Kofán) is an indigenous language known for its complex phonetics and has a unique writing system, known as Cofán orthography. The Cofán language has a rich oral tradition and was not traditionally written down. In the 1980s, linguists worked with Cofán speakers to develop a writing system for the language. This writing system, known as Cofán orthography, uses the Latin alphabet with a number of additional diacritical marks to represent the language’s unique sounds.

Cofán orthography has been used to produce a number of books and educational materials in the Cofán language, including dictionaries and language learning materials. The Cofán people have also used the writing system to produce their own literature, including stories, poems, and other written works.
