Italian Fonts

Italian fonts offered by Fontfabric are typefaces designed to support Italian orthography and text.

The Italian alphabet includes the same letters as the English alphabet, except for the letters j, k, w, x, and y. Some unique features of the Italian language that require specific diacritical marks to be used. A notable aspect of Italian fonts and Italian orthography is that it uses the so-called “acute accent” (also known as the “stress accent”) to indicate the stressed syllable in words that have more than one syllable. Some Italian words use ligatures, which are special characters that combine two or more letters into a single glyph. For example, the letters “fi” and “fl” are often combined into a single glyph in Italian typography.
